My brother bought me a Pix Brix puzzle of The Great Wave for Christmas. I liked is so much I wanted to frame it but knew I needed a custom sized "deep dish" frame to make it happen.I bought the 17 x 25 interior frame as the puzzle is 24.5 x 16.5. The actual interior dimensions were approximately 24 5/8 x 16 5/8. Whatever your project is, count on this frame's interior basically being 16.5 x 24.5. The puzzle barely fit in the frame. I was expecting a half inch border. I had to press firmly against the foam board liner to get it in correctly. It is, respectfully, a perfect fit for this puzzle which was a relief. If you are interested in doing a similar project I added pictures to share what I did. I took the extra Pix Brix to add an elevated barrier between the puzzle and the back. I also added the instructions and original box pieces then sealed it up.The backing is flimsy cardboard. Something easily bent. I was careful with it. The frame itself is really thin. This immediately raised a red flag with me as the mounting hardware provided was not designed for this thin of a frame. In the pictures provided you can see the loops are wider than the frame itself. I thought to try and hide this by adding the hardware flush toward the interior but my brother advised me not to as he anticipated it would split the frame. I opted to be safe and just deal with the fact the hardware shows from the side. I took a picture to show how that looks. The hardware was easy to screw in with a little push with a basic hand screwdriver. No instructions were provided so I placed the top screw 5.5 inches from the top. One of them did in fact split the wood. I also took a picture to show. I just left it. It's not ideal, frame was $$$, but it's fine, I'm fine, it's fine. XD I folded the hanging wire in half as I don't know the weight limit and the puzzle is hefty. I also took a picture of how I wrapped it.I loved the end result. It looks great! It is a lightweight, basic frame but gets the job done. Is it worth the money. Well, no, but as it is a custom size, yes. Happy framing!IDK why so many bad reviews on this. I ordered 5 and they all arrived in perfect condition. They are maybe shallower than usual and the back is foam, and there is plastic instead of glass, but it is strong, sturdy foam, and the plastic is thick enough to stay nice and stiff and in place, and if you take care of it, it's nice and clear. I appreciate that makes them more affordable while still looking very nice. When I ordered my frames the description clearly stated the dimensions, the foam backing, and the plastic "glass", so I didn't feel jipped because I knew what I was signing up for. What I did feel was very pleased at how nice they looked and in what great shape they arrived. PS, they arrived very nicely packed so as to keep the corners and edges in perfect condition.I collect unique quilled cards. I receive them from friends for B-Days / Holidays. They are too beautiful to just put in storage. They are raised and these frames allow me to showcase them.Only positive thing to say is its light weight. Except for fact I was in a bind for a frame this size, it would have been returned. All plastic. "Plexiglass" is no more than thicker plastic. For price, very disappointed.Nice over all and I guess I didn't read the description right and double checked but thought this was a hinged unit to mount and be able to open and close to add.With this unit, you have to take it off the wall, and the backing has those bendable tabs like the small photo holder frames do.Well, to me, this won't hold up with the constant open/close and most of us know with those bendable tabs, they aren't the best and for the cost of this, I would have expected better in that department but oh well.American made!!Good quality and will work as needed.I used this as an open shadow box of sorts so I chucked the clear plastic on the front. I found that part to be flimsy and very reflective. The frame itself seems decent and worked for my needs.It is a great frame, and a good price. Thank youWish it were 1/4 inch deeper
